Alma Deutscher is an inspiring woman composer whom many look up to in our modern world of music. Critics always tell her how people should write ugly music because contemporary composers are supposed to portray the ugliness of the modern world. Deutscher goes against the grain and is determined to write beautiful music and bring back harmony to modern classical music. She always wants her music to tell an interesting and beautiful story, even though the story can't always be told in words. Deutscher hopes people will find her music interesting and wishes that it will make them want to smile or dance. I relate to Deutscher and her music because my goal whenever I perform is to always make people happy and bring them joy. Like Deutscher, I want to share my love of music with the audience. She inspires students such as myself to grow as a musician and learn to its greatest extent.
